Section 15.2: Integration over general 2d regions

Lower and upper bounds on integration

If \(m \le f(x, y) \le M\) for all \((x, y) \text{ in } D\) , then

\[ mA(D) \le \iint_D f(x, y) dA \le MA(D) \tag{11} \]

EXAMPLE 6 Use Property 11 to estimate the integral \(\iint_D e^{\sin x \cos y} dA\), where \(D\) is the disk with center the origin and radius 2.
